Late Night Museum – Fashionably Late!
A Wonderful Evening at Late Night Museum – Fashionably Late!
We had a fantastic spot beside the Amazing Ashes to Fashion exhibition Charlotte McReynolds with our Belfast School of Art and Textile Art Design and Fashion student, Nyah Rea. It was so special to share recordings from the Rathlin Oral History Group thanks to Dr Jessica Bates, and even more wonderful to have group members, Marina McMullan and Margaret McQuillken, with us on the night.
We were also treated to beautiful music from Kate Burns on the harp and Eli Vogels flute performances throughout the evening. “Knitting Nancy” was out again alongside our domestic knitting machine, with visitors having a go and enjoying the process of making.
A real highlight was seeing the student knitwear and textiles inspired by Rathlin and created using Rathlin yarn showcased at the Fashionably Late fashion show.
Huge thanks to Tracey Rodgers and Style Academy for bringing the fashion show together and to everyone who came along and made the evening such a celebration of craft, creativity, heritage, and community. 🧶✨
Great opportunity for us to share our wonderful Future Island-Island project to a diverse audience in a unique way!
